Dreisilker, Pruftechnik, and BJM Partner to Make Changes in MotorMaster "Energy efficiency in electric motor systems presents significant opportunity within the industry..." In an article released within the October issue of Maintenance Technology Magazine, Dr. Howard W. Penrose, Ph.D. talks not only about this topic, but also about the latest development in a joint venture between his company, BJM Corporation, Dreisilker Electric Motors, Inc. , and Pruftechnik, Inc. in conjunction with Pacific Gas & Electric and the developers of the MotorMaster Plus software. MotorMaster Plus is a free software program offered by the U.S. Department of Energy. Within it, a user can maintain a database of crucial motors, their service costs and history, and latest readings. The software can also be used to run life cycle analysis, "repair vs. replace" analysis, as well as computing annual energy savings. While this functionality is more than anyone could ask for, a modification was needed to allow for the ability to enter and search phase balance data and other crucial items. BJM, Dreisilker, Pruftechnik, and PG & E worked together to implement the "first-ever industry-funded modification to the MM+ software."
