V-Belt types include:
Classical V-Belts: Special belts for integral horsepower drives. They are manufactured with high quality components using the ORV (Optibelt Rotary Vulcanization) process.
Light Duty V-Belts: Special belts for fractional drives with smaller diameter sheaves with loads and service requirements within the capacity of single belts.
Molded Cogged Raw Edge V-Belts: Can be used in place of conventional wrapped belts on drives having unusual features such as extremely small sheave diameters, high belt speeds and unusual power transmission requirements.
Wedge Belts: The use of superior materials and the compact design has made these belts economical and efficient. They can transmit two to three times more hp/kW than classical V-Belts with the same top width. Drives with power ratings up to 2600 hp are not unusual.

New production methods and raw materials enable us to manufacture a wrapped wedge belt which requires absolutely no maintenance. Optibelt RED POWER II wedge belt is of such low stretch that it is correctly pretensioned once, and does not require any further retensioning. As for initial fitting, the same calculation methods and pretension values apply as for Optibelt standard wedge belts.

The power ratings of Optibelt RED POWER II speak for themselves. Compared to other wrapped wedge belts, they are extremely high depending on section and pulley diameter. In many cases, the performance level reaches the values of raw edge, molded-cogged, wedge belts. Drive efficiency is as high as 97%. RED POWER II belts are oil, heat and dust-resistant as standard. Heat resistance is also superior to raw edge V-belts but yielding a smoother running belt drive.

A special advantage of the Optibelt RED POWER II is the fact that significant energy and money may be saved. Based on its high power ratings, fewer belts per drive can be used. In other words: fewer belts, narrrower pulleys and less space required. Therefore resulting in lower operating costs and higher power rating.

Naturally, S=C PLUS (Set Equals Constant) applies to Optibelt RED POWER II, too. Because it performs without regard to performance spikes, RED POWER belts run especially well in sets, with remarkably smooth running. The set tolerances of Optibelt RED POWER II are substantially lower than tolerances fixed by industry standards.
